Pollution Series: Deformed Frogs Lithograph
Pollution Series: Factory Lithograph

Pollution Series: Oil Spill Lithograph Pollution Series: Oil Spill 2 Lithograph

I am doing a series on pollution and here are four of my prints from the series. The first is a scene of deformed frogs that became that way from chemicals that humans let into the environment. The second is a factory emitting smoke into the air polluting the air that we breathe. The third is an oil spill with two birds full of oil and dead fish in the water to show how our actions hurt the environment. The fourth is the same image as the second transfered back onto my stone and then I drew over the transfer with a wet crayon to make the water look more like an oil spill.
I would have to say that Kim Berman has inspired me the most this semester content wise but Sue Coe has inspired me in lithographic printing techniques. I think the social art centered blog was a great idea for this semester and I think it has helped me develop my ideas for my series and opened my eyes to how I can make a difference through my artwork.

A new year

Hello everyone!
I just wanted to welcome everyone back to school! I am excited about this semester because I have all art classes and no education classes, which may be more work than I expect but I'm ready for it! I'm starting off a new year with Intermediate Ceramics, Intro to Jewelry, Lithography, Art History I, ART 399, and Photo Appreciation. Series

Hey everyone! I loved to see the prints today in class that Karen brought! They were awesome. I wanted to put up a picture of one of the prints in my series, this will be the final print in the series because it's a time sequence.

Aquatints, Line Etches and Drawings

Ok so I re-aquatinted my plate and here is the print from that. I think it turned out much better than the first time. I also decided to put on my first line etch so here it is. It's the one with the woman knitting. I thought I would put my drawing for one of my plates in my final series so here it is! It is the one with the trees.

Aquatint Print

So here's a picture of my first aquatint print. I don't like it very much but hopefully that will change once I try to go back and do more with it!

Aquatint

Okay so I made my first print today after doing the aquatint and I don't really like how it turned out. The second print I made was better but it still didn't look like I wanted it to. I guess I expected it to be darker than it is. Maybe I did it wrong too? I don't know! But I finally took a picture of one of my prints from the first plate I did with drypoint. It was the last print I made from that plate so it changed a lot but I like how this one turned out! At least I like this one!

Intaglio

I am loving print making. The process is very interesting. I didn't know what we were going to use to make prints before so I was surprised when we were using copper. I really like that we aren't using drypoint for our next assignment. I am actually excited to see how my plate turns out after it's been in the acid for the different times!
